Heading hidden

What a difference it makes riding a groundschooled horse! We had calm, forward, relaxed horses the whole way – even on the road! We encountered motorbikes, a bees nest (and a sting!), flapping shiny bird scarers, and loud vineyard machinery…and they all took it in their stride. This was a massive feat for me and such a confidence boost, I can’t stop smiling

So proud of my Ginja ninja today πŸ˜€ 2 x 2nds in the registered level 2 classes at AMDG with 63% and 64%. Not a spook or twitch in sight – judges box, no issue. Thank you so much to Dromgool Horsemanship for helping restore sanity to my world with your amazing tools πŸ˜€πŸ˜€ bring on May!!

Catriona – Auckland

Stavaani was the perfect model for my daughter Claire and her husband Chris’s wedding photos under the rimu trees. He stood perfectly calm and still with cameras, cars and strangers and didnt even stand on the back of the lace wedding dress. Very proud of my Dromgool trained Arabian horse.

Fiona – Taranaki

This is the most relaxed and chilled out dressage test Tucker and I have ever done. 71% and won our class. Stage 1 ground school a big big contributor to this result. So happy and proud of my happy chilled out boy

Big round of applause to all the participants at the Dromgool Horsemanship clinic held at our Club last weekend (27/28/29 Feb)!! It was amazing to see how massively expanded one’s awareness and knowledge could be about working with horses. Ken and Jane were outstanding in their clarity, patience and expectations, and every single participant stepped well up to their marks (and beyond, in the humble opinion of moi). My brain is still exploding… (and I was only an auditor lol :-D). Loved every, single second.

Thanks you sooo much Jane Dromgool and Ken for a fantastic 3 day clinic last weekend at Abderry in Auckland, we got so much out of it. Dante and I had an AMAZING ride today over my neighbours beautiful farm and I worked on everything that we had learnt on the clinic. Sooo lovely to have a soft horse that I can bend and really start to stretch down, he is so much happier in himself too. Yessss, I can now move all four feet without him getting worried. Thanks again guys, I’m really looking forward to the next clinic.

Kristina – Auckland

Just wanted to say thank you for an amazing weekend. My green QH is so lucky to have done her 10th, 11th and 12th rides at your Auckland clinic. I know this has fast-tracked her learning fantastically and given her a massive boost so early in her ridden life. It was great to both Jane and Ken understand her immediately and teach her so much. I’m very grateful for the guidance and direction you both gave us!!

Just completed the latest Waikato Dromgool clinic. Awesome bunch of like minded people. As a veteran attendee it was great to see the progress made, break downs and breakthroughs achieved. Seriously proud of my big girl Moon and myself for the milestones we’ve achieved. It’s starting to feel like a real dance partnership. Lastly but by no means least I’d like to say a HUGE thanks to both Ken & Jane for their time and knowledge. Without you both I just don’t know where I’d be.

Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the clinic in Tauranga. I learnt so much! You were positive, clear and very encouraging. Really like the format where we were asked to watch the others and make comments. It really made one look at the subtleties of body language and having to put that into words really cemented what you were teaching.

I’m back from my trek, Sahara was amazing and never panicked in any way with the obstacles she faced considering she is a novice. We went through a lot of boggy areas, steep terrain and numerous river crossings which we went into a hole that we had to swim out of.
I used the skills that you both taught me and it got us through some sticky situations, Sahara really listened and became so soft – I also cantered her without her bucking! I’m so thrilled I came to your clinic last week and THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to you both for all the time and support you gave us.
I’m very excited about what Sahara and I can achieve, we have really connected and I’m so looking forward to coming to next clinic in Southland next year.

Our first dressage day ever!! I can’t believe I came home with a 1st, and Mum received a 2nd & 3rd! We really couldn’t be happier, and we had so much fun!! Rodrigo and Affinity are feeling the best they ever have, and it is very satisfying seeing the all hard work pay off! Still ALOT to work on, but we are loving every minute of it. Thanks for all your help Ken & Jane ❀ Xx

I wanted to let you know how things have changed in my horse world. I have found the missing link thanks to Ken and Jane. Having lost all confidence, I was struggling to do most things on the ground with my pony. Two clinic’s later I am confident and enjoying leading both the horses to and from their grazing paddocks daily (about 500 metres). Suddenly the whole horse deal has clicked, get his eyes on me and all his problems will go away. Then today he honoured me with the ultimate paddock cuddle, the best ground work ever!

I have just done 2 of 3 days of a Jane & Ken Dromgool course at Showfields – with Gerald having been out so long my confidence had got less than usual….I am enjoying their step by step way of teaching, with safety paramount. I have now signed up for their next two courses – highly recommended.

Jan – Auckland

Just had the greatest 2 days at the clinic at stable 88 in Matakana , love to learn with the very best and you guys are definitely that !

Sue – Auckland

Can’t recommend Ken enough, just when you think the connection with your horse couldn’t get better – or you couldn’t ride any better! And then, every ride just gets better. He makes it all possible, understands your horse and speaks your language! We are sooo excited!

Catherine – Auckland

Firstly I would like to acknowledge Ken, his communication and teaching style was clear and concise, regardless of age, experience and ability (beginner/trekking/Grand Prix dressage/western) Ken ensured everyone was working towards their own goals.

In terms of group dynamics there was a huge variation, which he managed incredibly well. He is very genuine, engaging, approachable and easy to talk to, the learning was fun and enjoyable and most importantly encouraged confidence in all participating. In such a short space of time I observed dramatic changes in my horse and in my husband and his partnership with his horse, as well as other participants and their horses.

Secondly I would like to discuss as an auditor I felt the knowledge gained from Ken is unmeasurable, I am able to apply his teachings to my on going horsemanship learning, as well as to both my personal and professional areas. I am a Social Worker for the New Zealand Police and I work with children who offend, the cross over of information will for me improve my practice and benefit my partnership with my horse, my family and my clients. Do not under estimate the value of auditing.

Lastly everyone I spoke to left the clinic with a huge smile on their faces, increased confidence and already committed to attending Ken’s next clinic when he revisits the area, myself included.

A simple thank you does not convey how significant the learning I have experienced over the weekend has really has on me, but thank you!!!!

Billie – Taranaki

Wow! Never learnt so much (and had so much fun) in the last 19 years I’ve been riding. Best feeling to be so connected to my Horse. So grateful and appreciative to have had Ken here for the last three days. Thank you so much!
